A return to
the body.

“The earth was holding me for what felt like the first time.”

Katherine outdoors in a natural setting

My path to Ayurveda began the way many healing paths do, with a diagnosis. A week before the world shut down in 2020, I learned I had Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), an endocrine disorder that affected my hormones and mood. At the time, I was a high-achieving student and rower, while also working as an Emergency Medical Technician, the kind of person who ran on discipline and people-pleasing. My nervous system had been humming in fight-or-flight since childhood, shaped by a culture fundamentally disconnected from the wisdom of the Earth. My body was trying to tell me something; it was time to wake up.

After my PCOS diagnosis, and refusing the band-aid birth control treatment I was prescribed, food slowly became medicine. I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training and felt so pulled toward balance that I moved to a village in Sri Lanka with no electricity, where Ayurveda and yoga weren't a wellness trend but simply how people lived. I connected with the indigenous people there, resting in earthen homes, soaking my bones in beautiful plant baths, and anointing myself with deeply nourishing oils. Through that slower rhythm, I felt the earth holding me for what felt like the first time. I went on to complete a year-long program at the Sarasvati School of Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy under Susan Bass, earning my certification as an Ayurvedic Wellness Advisor alongside my 500-hour yoga certification.

Today, I live with no symptoms of PCOS, healed through a daily Ayurvedic routine and food as medicine. Beyond this, I live in deep harmony with the rhythms of the Earth and her seasons, listening closely to the subtle needs of my body. Cooking for the people I love remains one of my greatest joys, and one of my core beliefs: that the most powerful medicine is often the most accessible, found in how we eat, move, and structure our days. Choosing that kind of balance, in a culture built for speed and output, takes real courage. It is a gift to go on this journey with you, at a time when Earth is beckoning us to awaken and reconnect mind, body, spirit, and community.

A rhythm that
belongs to you.

In a culture that rewards rushing, Ayurveda offers a different invitation: to notice your body's signals, honor its rhythms, and return to balance through the wisdom of daily living. Together, we begin with a careful assessment of your unique constitution and current imbalances, looking closely at digestion, sleep, energy, and the patterns that shape your days. From there, I curate a personalized plan rooted in dinacharya, the Ayurvedic practice of daily routine, tailored to your actual life rather than a generic template.

This may include specific practices for your dosha and imbalances: how and when to eat, herbs and spices to incorporate, breathwork or movement to settle an overactive mind, or simple shifts to your morning and evening that restore your natural rhythm. Nothing here is one-size-fits-all. Every recommendation is built around what your body is asking for, so you leave with a plan that feels less like instruction and more like coming home to yourself.

What's included:

- A thorough assessment of your constitution and current imbalances

- A specially curated daily routine (dinacharya) built for your life

- Specific practices, herbs, and lifestyle shifts to restore balance

- Ongoing check-ins to refine your plan as you progress

Food as
daily medicine.

This class is designed to be practiced, not just watched, which is why I love teaching it in your own kitchen. Cooking where you'll actually cook again means everything we make together becomes part of your regular life, not a one-time experience.

We'll begin with the often-overlooked foundation of good digestion: proper hydration before a meal. From there, you'll learn to make a dosha-specific predigestive to take with you and use before meals onward. We'll prepare a kitchari made specifically for you, the deeply healing dish sometimes called "the food of the gods," along with a chutney to accompany it. You'll leave understanding not just the recipe but the reasoning: which spices are balancing, which are heating, which are cooling, and how to choose them for your own constitution.

As a lasting takeaway, we'll hand-blend a dosha-balancing churna, a spice mix ground together in a mortar and pestle, that you'll keep and use in your own cooking long after the class ends. Throughout, we'll move slowly and with intention, cooking with loving presence and cultivating deep gratitude for the food that nourishes us. This is as much a practice in slowing down as it is a cooking lesson.
